Free World Bound Inspire Plus Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

General Description:

This position provides behavioral intervention services, including testing and referrals, linkage to care, referrals, navigation and support services, and coordination with other behavioral intervention services and condom distribution.

 Specific Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Manages site development and relationship building with includes site selection, obtaining necessary approvals, determining educational topics and scheduling.
  • Manages recruitment and enrollment of population of focus for participation in selected interventions.
  • Provides group or individual behavioral intervention services.
  • Conducts group and/or individual evidence based interventions as required.
  • Conducts outreach to population of focus.
  • Conducts individual risk screenings and assessments
  • Provides Counseling Testing and Referral according to protocol – rapid and confirmatory testing, including finger stick or whole blood as required.
  • Conducts HCV tests according to established protocol.
  • Completes and maintains all required documentation for each individual receiving services and EBI activities performed.
  • Assesses and makes appropriate referrals for interventions, testing, immunizations, case management, PrEP, and/or treatment.
  • Conducts HIV/HCV and Substance Misuse education to population of focus
  • Assists in the coordination of behavioral intervention and treatment services provided by Prism Health North Texas and/or collaborating organizations.
  • Enters data into requisite databases.
  • Creates INSPIRE Plus content for Prism Health North Texas social media platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and databases.
  • Training in and knowledge of preventive behavioral interventions.
  • Must complete training on selected interventions within the first 3 months from start of program.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Dependable transportation and current Texas Driver’s License and active auto liability insurance.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health or related fields. Significant experience in the relevant field may be considered in lieu of the degree.
  • Must have 2 years’ experience in behavioral health or social service and one year experience working with the priority population.
  • Experience creating health promotion and/or marketing content for social media platforms.
  • Bilingual preferred.
