About Prism Health North Texas and Uptown Physicians Group

We are a mission-driven non-profit community health organization in Dallas, Texas that uniquely operates several different types of medical practice environments, one of which includes the health center operating as Uptown Physicians Group (UPG) where this position will be located. UPG was recently awarded the Business Excellence Award by the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and is a highly regarded, well respected, and growing primary care office. It is formally an independent private practice but last year joined the family of Prism Health North Texas to better serve its patients and the community of North Texas. Health services include: comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, affirming primary care for people representative of the LGBTQ+ community, and general adult primary care. Nearly all of the patients seen at this location have commercial health insurance coverage.

Position Summary: The physician provides high quality primary care for patients and would serve a patient population highly represented by the LGBTQ+ community and a high number of patients living with HIV/AIDS. The physician would provide comprehensive care to his/her own panel of patients, as well as provide supervision to advanced practice providers in the practice. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Fridays 8:00 – 12:00 pm. Office-only after hours call is rotated among eight providers, all from within the practice. The office is located in a trendy area of Dallas called Uptown with accessible dining and living options all within walking distance or short drive. The office is located in a clean and modern high rise at 4144 North Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas, TX 75204.

Job Qualifications:


  • MD or DO degree
  • Active Texas license, or able to be licensed in Texas within 60 days
  • Board eligibility or certification in family medicine or internal medicine, preference given for physicians with an accredited infectious disease fellowship
  • Current AAHIVM credentials or able to apply within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of 5 years of primary care clinical experience with significant experience in HIV primary care
  • Ability and interest in providing primary care for LGBTQ+ individuals
  • Must be able to maintain all health plan credentialing requirements
